America Ambulance first began providing EMS services to Sangamon County, Illinois in 1967. Terry Kirk, America Ambulance’s founder, saw a need for ambulance services in the area and this sparked the creation of one of the first ambulance services in Central Illinois. Over the years
America has led the way in EMS innovation for the area, becoming one of the first ambulance services with paramedics on staff, on-board radios to improve communications, and was the first in the area to provide much needed critical care ground transport services to the
community. In 2008, the current Owner and President, Susan Zappa, took over the service and has continued the culture of innovation. Today, America is the home to nearly seventy employees, and continues to provide the highest-level service to the communities in Sangamon County. In your time of need, America Ambulance is the service that has and will always be there to answer the call.
